About Laura

Hello, I'm Laura.

I've spent 27 years working with dogs and their people, building calmer, happier relationships, and I still love it as much as the day I started.

Hi, so a little bit more about me. I come from a welfare background, having worked for the Dogs Trust. I worked in training and behaviour there for most of my career. My focus is the happy dog and the happy person. I want to get to the root cause and I want to educate people. My industry isn't regulated, and there are so many people out there offering quick fixes and suppressing behaviour. I want to shout from the rooftops that it doesn't have to be that way. We can help your dog feel happy without using any fear or intimidation. If that's something that resonates with you, get in touch.

My background

How I got here

I've been working in the industry for 27 years, 17 of them as a Training and Behaviour Advisor for Dogs Trust, where I supported hundreds of dogs through some of the hardest moments of their lives. I'm certified by Bristol University in Companion Animal Welfare and Rehabilitation, and I hold an Advanced Diploma in Applied Canine Behaviour. I keep learning constantly, because the science of how dogs think and feel keeps getting better.

My approach is simple to say and careful in practice: science-led, heart-driven. I don't use fear, pain or intimidation, ever. I look at the whole dog, their health, history, home and emotions, and I work with what I find rather than forcing a template onto it.

Mostly, though, I listen. To the dog in front of me, and to the people on the other end of the lead. Behaviour is complicated, and genetics, health and everything a dog has already lived through all play their part, so this is a place to talk openly about your dog without judgement. You know your dog better than anyone, there is a way forward, and the best results always come when we work it out together.
